Racism O.O

Hey Everyone!
I want to discuss something quite serious and controversial today. Before I say anything…I want y’all to know that I am not trying to offend anyone or seem judgmental. Like I said, this is a very controversial topic. Not everyone is going to agree with me, and that is okay. I respect your opinions like they were my own, even if I don’t agree with them. At the end of the day, there is a story behind your opinions, beliefs, values and morals. Something or someone most likely helped you in the development of those, and I know how important that can be and how much it can mean. It’s hard to divert from something you have known all your life. Trying something new, or even just hearing about it is a difficult thing…so I thank all of you who read this post and respect my opinion whether we agree or not.
                Here we go…

Racism. It really is a heavy topic, huh? But it’s something that has been incredibly evident around me lately. One of the things that has placed this topic on my heart is a show. Now don’t laugh…but I do watch The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. I can’t lie, I like it. :p But I can get into a good monster truck show as well!

I mean…how cool is that? Haha! Anyways…I’m watching the most recent season of The Bachelorette with Andi. And one of the men(Andrew) is in a rose ceremony and Andi picks the two African Americans. So, Andrew leans over to the man beside him and says, “She picked the two blackies”. This eventually comes out in the show and creates a huge stir.
Obviously, that is an offensive comment. That is only one of countless situations that I have been able to witness as of lately. It bothers me that racism is such an evident part of life.
I am Caucasian girl. So I don’t have to deal with racism as much as others. Even so, it pains me when people judge solely off of the color of skin. People can’t choose what color they will be. Unless you pull a Michael Jackson.

The thing is, the color of your skin doesn't change your heart, soul, or mind. Caucasians, Black Americans, Asians, Hispanics, etc., we are all people. To say that all Asians are mean just because they are Asian, or that all Black Americans are stupid just because, or anything to that nature...is honestly ignorant.
Racism has brought on so much destruction to this earth. Think about it...judgement, cruelty, slavery, death, etc. All of these horrible occurences just because your skin is a different color. I was raised never to judge someone by their race. In fact, I was raised never to judge people at all.

Everyone, whether they are Asian, Black American, Caucasian, etc., everyone has beauty within them. Whether they choose to let it show or not is their choice, but it doesn't change the fact that everyone has beauty. If you look hard enough, I'll bet you can see at least one good, pure thing about any person. The point is, we need to stop judging people on their color, and start seeing the beauty they hold. Every single person is goregously unique and the deserve to be seen that way. YOU deserve to be seen that way. So, let's take a step back and see a person for what lies beneath the surface.

I'd love to hear your opinions on racism and any experiences you've witnessed firsthand or just by the sidelines. I'm always here to help and support you! Love you<3
